bloggings of a mom

i feel great…i dont know if its cause i got some long awaited sewing done yesterday, or if its from my uninterrupted eight straight hours of sleep, or if its cause we are going to MUSC today to get isla her second ct scan and meet the neurosurgeon and hopefully get some idea on surgery. i feel like this door has been open a long time with tons of unanswered questions. so hopefully some questions will get answered. i am so proud of my little girl she has defied the odds and is progressing and improving awesomely!!!! you will never meet a more happy child then my little isla ann. she is always smiling, giggling, laughing, and “talking” she makes me a better person. a better christian, a better wife, a better mom, a better friend, and a better stranger. by better stranger i mean i am more in tune with those around me.  anyway…yesterday i stayed home all day, isla was a bit fussy her second top tooth is coming through and she jsut wanted to be held…which was ok with me…but inbetween that i got my sewing machine fixed and made six stuffed monsters to put in the store for sale to help make some much needed money. by the end of the night my machine was eating my monster…my bobbin tension keeps getting tooooooo tight…i dont know if there is something bigger that is happening but ill just keep fixing the small problem cause i know how to do that…so anyway. if you read this say a prayer for my little girl today…i pray that she is calm and not fussy during the ct scan…that the ct results are clear and show the neurosurgeon and neurologist exactly what they need to find. and that a good game plan is put in place…also if you could pray for her doctors and nurses that the lord works through their hands and guides them in their decisions.

so today i am staying home from the store and there is a lot to do…

-scrub every inch of the master bathroom

-organize all of my vintage ribbons, laces, buttons, etc…

-mow the lawn

-spray paint a table for the store then rough it up

-all the daily household chores( dishes, vacuum, laundry, etc)

-organize my closet

-draw a floor plan for my hobby room in the garage my father is building for me.

-try and fix my sewing machine

-see if the vintage sewing machine my dad bought for me at an antique mall works

-if i can accomplish the aboves then sew a few dolls to get in the store for sale.

-call the amenities center here in the neighborhood and see if i can rent the clubhouse for baby girls 1 yr birthday party!!!! (ahhhhhh shes going to be a year old next month!!!!! ahhhhhhh! where does time go?)

-and of course take care of my baby girl, do her exercises and therapies, and all that jazz!

im determined to get it all done but first i am going to sit here on tumbler and look for some inspiration for my garage room! so excited to get that done…so im starting with that so it will help put my in a chipper mood! have a goooooooood day!!!!!

i found some good finds at once upon a child. some super cute awesome suede baby pink fringy moccasin booties. so excited…i loved going through my bags and pulling everything out…i took my time and it was soooooo fun. i just wish my ten month old was old enough to appreciate my scavenging…

its been busy… i havent been able to write…no that was i lie i have been able to…but i havent been feeling well and ive been a little down i guess…i cant really explain it. i dont know this post stinks…sorry. but anyway…prayer. i need to go pray.

i mean this with no offense, but it is hard for me to take your fashion advice for your friend (you telling her that one of the most awesome dresses in stock right now is “ugly”) seriously when you carry a quilt purse…i dont know what is is about quilted purses that are so appealing to people.

i type “jsut” a lot instead of “just” dont know why i just do….

so isla had an appt with the endocrinologist - it went good! isla is 27 inches long 10th percentile and 17 lbs 13th percentile. they were really happy with that…next time we meet (3 months) for a check up she is also meeting with a dietician jsut to make sure that she is not burning more calories (because all of her movements) than she is intaking. we also met with the neurologist. he seemed happy with her progress and it looked like her head grew to 28 cm which is 2 cm more than last time….but i dont know if the last measurement was correct cause i think the pediatrician got that same measurement a few months ago. anyway….the neurologist has ordered a ct scan to check on the skull and the brain growth just to see if surgery is still in play. oh and the genetic lab came up inconclusive. they didnt find what they needed to so they probably wont ever. this was a lab to see if they could find the cause of her type 2 pontocerebellar hypoplasia. and i think that is all i have on her appointments.

i have a full day today….so tired i dont want to get out of bed. isla and i are cuddling and she is watching the computer. she loves staring at the lights. breakfast, store meeting (here at the house thank goodness), house cleaning, lunch, therapy sessions (speech and ot), to the store to put out some new shipments!, and back home to get ready for bible study here at the house. 

so i better get started….first off to get rid of the mysterious smell coming from isla’s bottom end.
