isla birth announcement for her room…

what do you think? please let me know the truth. by the way this is the color scheme of her room.

and i am so excited! i can hardly wait. about 3 hours and he will be here. well not here as in where i am. he is all the way in IL and i am in SC but here as in out of his mommys uterus and in their arms! CAN NOT WAIT! more to come….

we have everything we need except lighting stuff…

-christmas lights

-party lights

-rope lights

-fiber optic lamp

-disco ball

-bubble pole

phase one: complete…the garage is clean and the construction plans are set!

phase two starts tonight! which includes construction of the room.

-the garage door rails need to come down

-the garage door needs to be fixed closed

-the wall needs to be built and a door installed

-a closet needs to be built around the water heater

-heating/air vent needs to be installed

my dad, brother, and husband will be playing man and getting this a rollin’ tonight!

right now i am off to amazon to order the floor!

and making isla and i lunch! :)

I hope you feel better!! Also, you are an amazing seamstress/designer!! The most I can sew is…nothing hahaha ;) But I still have another year to work on that before I go to college and my mom won’t be on hand to help me out :)

- aww…thanks i do feel better hopefully tomorrow ill be back to my normal self. and you can do it. im self taught at everything i do creative-wise. just get in there and do it. trial and error, and im not that great at sewing but i get what i need done. im sure i do everything backwards. but ive created my own methods that work for me. have fun creating! and thanks! 

i had a lot to do today…

some actual work stuff…once i got that done i started working on some earring designs. let me know what you think. i like the suede feather earrings do you? 

these actual feather ones i just need to make more of… we sell them at the store for a single or a pair. most people buy a pair. i should mention all of the leather is re-purposed (or what i like to call it ‘refreshed’) suede clothing. and then bead and chains on the feather earrings are refreshed vintage jewelry pieces. you can go here for some of my other refreshed items

then i made the cake for the baby shower.  the bottom layer is chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and fondant. the top layer is vanilla with vanilla buttercream. the J and dots are made from white chocolate. i wanted the top layer to have a textured whimsical look and the bottom layer to be clean and cute. it was a very humid and rainy day, not good conditions to make a cake like this, but i got it done. not my favorite cake but its ok.

then it was onto making dinner nothing special. a poor mans meal. i say that cause its only like $4 to make this meal. roasted chicken legs, rice, and green beans. my husband is a huge eater, this is his plate. he eats enough for three people.  

then time for islas dinner…she had veggies, rice, and blueberry yogurt…and daddy fed her can you tell?…

for the shower presents baby is getting a ba-guh monster and their daughter i am giving a little something too, cause its hard getting a younger sibling when you were the star for over two years, shes getting a big ribbon flower clippie. and i realized i had run out of my reserve gift bags so i decided to sew a few up and this is what i ended with.

so that was my day…the house is a disaster but im still a little congested and my head is throbbing and all i can think about is sleep. so im off to bed. well im in bed now. so i guess i should say im off to sleep!

im sick…isla just got done being sick for a week. and then a few days later i get it. its just a cold. but the main thing is it has zapped my energy. and this is not the week for it.

today: make a baby shower cake / finish making jewelry for etsy store

wednesday: meeting at 9 am/ get tons of new merchandise out at random / make a special order monster / add new scrappy hair flowers to etsy shop/ add new jewelry items to etsy shop / shop for wedding cake on friday.

thrusday: speech therapy / make wedding cake/wedding cupcakes/wedding cookies

friday: deliver and set up wedding goodies / finish adding new goodies to etsy shop / shop for wedding shower gift

saturday: ikea trip to charlotte with the girls! hopefully able to get a few more goodies for islas room!

sunday: church / wedding shower / start cleaning out garage for islas room!

-lots to do. but i feel so blessed that i am able to do things that i love doing. i love being creative. and finding ways to make a little money off of it for my baby girl. also my one of my friends had a beautiful little girl last week and i havent been able to go see her because of being out of town and now im stinking sick! ahhhggggg! 

anyway! hopefully this sickness goes away soon and i can get everything done!!!!!!

i could and sometimes do spend hours searching through magazines and websites for things i think would help isla. her wish list just hit four pages today. good gravy.

and now on to something thats not so cute… (cue the duhn duhn duhhhhhhhhh music here) what im about to show you is bad… very bad…

i have a few selfish reasons for islas therapy room to be built in the garage… of course they are not the main reasons. the main reason is my baby girl. we are doing it in the garage for space. space for her toys, therapy items, room for exercises, walking/crawling work, and for my work/craft/sewing station to fit so i can watch her play and work while i work.

here are my selfish reasons…

(do not judge me for my mess…ok you can judge me i dont care its so bad i need to be judged)

my living room on a good day…

isla’s toys/therapy items have taken over…

(yes thats a lava light…not part of my living room decor. im not that cool. it’s isla’s and for her sensory room)

the office/guest bedroom…holy mess batman… this room is currently a mess due to storage of isla’s therapy/sensory room items and my sewing station, that is also a mess. more of a disaster really.

here is the most scary of all reasons…the garage…

storage of islas over flow…my overflow…and regular garage stuff…

i want an organized house. i want room to be able to organize. 

so we hopefully start construction on the room in a few weeks!!!!!! ill keep you posted.

*also sorry for the long post i have put a page break in about 6 times and it will not show up…not sure whats going on…i know how annoying long picture posts are on your dashboards sorry…

- isla says have a great day everyone! im sick and have no voice but i am one happy girl who just rocked it out in pt/ot today!

headed to ikea so find some bright fun things for islas therapy room. cant wait tosee what we find! then headed home to get our baby girl. gosh we miss her. we havent seen her since friday night and all we do is talk about her and look at her pictures and watch videos of her.

but for now a little more husband and wife time…then home.
