Wheelchair time....
isla got her wheelchair yesterday. i didnt get any good pictures my camera is doing something funny. i got three really early on and then a few with my cell phone none of them are good shots. you cant really see how cute the chair is, its so much better in person.

Speech Therapy session 9/21/11...
isla worked on self feeding today…we stripped her down to her diaper and her shoes put her in her corner chair and let her go to town. she had a smorgasbord of raisins, rice crispies, chocolate pudding, and twizzlers…oh yeah and her new big girl cup with juice. so here is some photo spam of her session and a few messy but cute after shots…

Isla medical update...
ok so here is the most recent on whats going on in the medical and therapy world of isla ann…
her orthopedic appointment:
she had xrays of her hips, spine, and arms. that is all he said needed to be xrayed, everything else looked good and we were splinting what need to be splint. so ok.

it’s so hard to wake her up when she doesnt sleep well at night and a lot of the times if she doesnt wake up on her own she can have a seizure. so we miss a lot of things in the morning. but its worth it. for her, anything. daddy and i will watch church on the computer this morning.

amazement...
i dont know how many times a day i am caught off guard by the amazement of God’s creation in my little girl. yesterday she wouldnt take a nap and im laying in bed with her trying to get her to calm down she looks up at me smiles and grabs my hand, and it hit me. Amazing. her little soft fingers on top of mine were pure magic. no longer was i frustrated with her. i was in awe of her.

isla's little elbow...
isla’s elbow has been coming in and out of joint for a while now. her therapists showed us how to put it back into joint. recently it has been slipping a little more and bulging a little more.

Update on the lovely miss isla ann this morning...
she slept 12 hours!!!! holy cow. she woke up twice for a few seconds but went right back down. she was happy and giggly and talkative this morning. had a great OT session and is now sitting in her corner chair with her tactile fuzzy balls watching the tigger movie while i clean and cook lunch! so happy to have her back to normal! hopefully it lasts!

football season is here. this is where we only see tim on saturday afternoon - sunday night. with the occasional thursday night thrown in there. unfortunately thursday night college football, saturday college football, and sunday is NFL. he is so happy during football season and i love how passionate he is about it. and i find nothing sexier than him coaching.

I have never heard of a sleep book for special needs kids. Can you share the title with me? It’s very true — I have three kids that don’t “sleep right.” Would the doc approve herbs to help her? That’s what we use. Hugs.

ok so isla has not been sleeping. the past week she has had a really hard time. her lack of sleep is making her cranky and irritable during the day. she doesnt want to take naps correction: she can’t take naps. she doesnt want to eat as much or drink as much. so tim and i are having a really hard time. i am struggling emotionally, it seems to be affecting me more that way then physically,...

few things so far today...
-isla didnt sleep well. she was up 4 times last night. she woke up screaming at 8. put her in bed with me and she slept til 9:30.
-isla cried the whole 15 minutes it took me to get her milk, breakfast, and meds ready this morning.
-isla ate, pooped, had medicine and has been in a great mood since.
- isla played on the floor by herself for a good hour and half.
- i poured a bowl of cereal only...
